ORIENTAL COLLECTION - "UZBEKISTAN LINE"

“Uzbekistan” line

The “Kalyan” mosque was built in the XV-XVI centuries and today it is considered to be one of the major monuments of the ancient Bukhara. Its wide inside court is surrounded with galleries, crowned with 288 cupolas. The grand eastern entrance is decorated with a splendid portal with blue, light blue and white ornamented tiles. It is the eastern portal of the mosque that is painted on the oval medallions on one side of the teapot and sugar bowl.

On the other side medallions are painted with  Magok-Attari Mosque, that was built in XII century. The frontage of the Mosque is faced with brick, imitating stone, and decorated with carved terracotta plates with glazed granules.

By tradition, the colors of the sky play the key role in mosque decoration. That is why  the dominant colors of the color pallet of this dinner-set are sky-blue, turquoise, and dark-blue, that are typical for Uzbek culture. They mix well with white surface and gold-plating of the items.

Stylized Uzbek ornaments and traceries remind colorful eastern tiles that are usually used to face the walls of the Mosques. Moreover, here we can see another one decorative motive – iterative eight pointed stars. They can be seen not only in decorations, but also in national symbols of many Muslim countries. This collection is produced under the limited edition of 500 sets.
